Registered Sport Nutritionist, MSc Sport & Exercise Nutrition, Diploma in Performance Nutrition, BSc (Hons) Sport Science, NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer
Simone Pigliapoco is the Head of Nutrition at Pure Muscles Gym and a Registered Sport Nutritionist with an academic background in Sport Science, Sport and Exercise Nutrition, and Performance Nutrition.
His coaching approach is evidence-based, combining scientific principles with practical, personalised, and sustainable strategies tailored to each individual. Simone works with clients looking to lose body fat, improve body composition, build muscle, enhance performance, and develop effective nutrition habits that fit around training, work, social commitments, and holidays.
A strong believer in education, Simone empowers clients to understand the reasoning behind their nutrition plans rather than simply follow instructions. By analysing factors such as body weight, measurements, training performance, lifestyle, adherence, and client feedback, he makes informed adjustments to support continued progress.
His goal is to help individuals build structure, confidence, and long-term independence with their nutrition, creating sustainable results that can be maintained in real life rather than relying on restrictive diets or short-term solutions.
Simone’s passion for fitness and nutrition began at a young age. He started swimming at the age of six before going on to practise sports including Muay Thai and judo, eventually committing to gym training seriously in his twenties.
His personal experience with nutrition played a significant role in shaping the coach and nutritionist he is today. Early in his own dieting journey, Simone followed a highly restrictive approach that lacked education around sustainability, flexibility, and long-term behaviour change. Despite working with a nutritionist at the time, the experience led to an unhealthy relationship with dieting and food. This became the driving force behind his career, motivating him to help others avoid the same mistakes by combining evidence-based practice with real-world experience.
Simone’s education spans both Italy and London. He first completed his NSCA certification in Italy before earning a degree in Sport Science in Rome while travelling regularly between Italy and London. He then continued his studies in London, completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Performance Nutrition at the Institute of Performance Nutrition, followed by an MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition at the University of Roehampton.
After moving to London to pursue greater opportunities through education, hard work, and personal development, Simone joined Pure Muscles Gym as a member. His passion for helping others, sharing knowledge, and supporting fellow members quickly stood out, leading him to become part of the team and eventually Head of Nutrition.
Since 2012, Simone has worked as a Personal Trainer, and since 2019 as a Nutritionist. Throughout his career, he has supported athletes, gym members, body recomposition clients, transformation journeys, and everyday individuals striving to become stronger, healthier, and more confident versions of themselves.
